Add your own MCP server
Connect another service's MCP server so the assistant can use the tools you choose from it.
If a service you use has an MCP server, an admin can connect it, and the assistant can use its tools in chats.
Add the server
- Go to Settings, then Connections, and find Add an MCP server by URL.
- Enter a Name, such as "Acme Tools". Its short form becomes the prefix on every tool the server adds.
- Enter the Server URL.
- If the server needs one, enter an access token. If it can't register ako by itself, ako asks for a client id and secret.
- Select Test and add.
The server now appears under Organisation connections. Adding it switches nothing on.
Choose its tools
- Open the server's connection page.
- Under Tools, tick the tools the assistant may use. Each one says whether it only reads or can change things.
- Select Save tools.
Only the tools you switch on are available. Anything the server adds later stays off until you switch it on. Select Re-check to see new tools.
