Your personal brain
A brain only you can open, for notes and drafts before they're ready to share.
Every member except those on the Read role has a personal brain. Use it for notes, drafts and anything you're not ready to share.
As of 2026-10-14, personal brains are in beta.
Open it
Go to Knowledge and select Personal. It's listed first, with a lock. ako creates it the first time you open it.
To work in it with the assistant, choose Personal in the brain picker beside the message box. See Chat with your knowledge.
Who can see it
Only you. Nobody else in your organisation can open it: not your admins, and not the organisation's owner. ako staff can't either.
There is one exception. If your organisation receives a formal legal request, it can ask for an export.
It still belongs to your organisation. If you leave, what's in it passes to the organisation's owner.
How it differs from a shared brain
- There's no approval step. Your changes go straight in.
- You can't import files into it yet. Import into another brain instead.
A document you start in Personal stays private while you work on it.
